PAC will examine CAG report

Public Accounts Committee decided to examine the latest report of CAG on coal block allocation during the period 2004-2009. The Congress & BJP locking horns over CAG report coal inside parliament, its ripples are likely to felt in meetings of PAC when the issue is taken up for scrutiny.

The PAC led by BJP leader Murali Manohar Joshi decided to include in its agenda CAG reports on coal allocation, Delhi International Airport Ltd, Ultra Mega Power Plants & Atomic Energy Regulatory Board. PAC's controversial CAG report on 2G scam had strongly indicated former Telecom Minister A. Raja and come down heavily on PMO & cabinet secretariat for not taking corrective action while not sparing even Prime Minister for some unfortunate omissions. The draft was rejected by Congress members.
